having owned both i prefer the M/B

(had 740 and a S500-- not at same time i aint that rich lol)

The MB is more luxurious and less sporty the BMW is more sporty and less luxurious (probably luxurious enough tho) the Audi A8 is somewhere in between. the Audi has the highest reliability rating of the three big luxo's The BMW and MB have much worse than average reliability. i would look at A8 or S8 then 7series.
