Hi,

I just bought a 2004 Mercedes SL500.

I was told by the dealership there is no way to upgrade the stereo (head unit) or anything aftermarket that will work.

Is that right?

I thought for sure I could buy an after market unit or at the very least a head unit from a 2005 or new (so I could use an ipod or mp3 player without having to use an FM transmitter).

Does anybody know of aftermarket stereos that will fit this car?

If not, any suggestions on how to best integrate an ipod/mp3 player?

- Ways to install an aux jack?

- Or if I have to go with an FM transmitter, one that actually works and produces decent sound quality?
