I am looking to buy a 2002 standard mercedes CL 500 in the UK. I am getting conflicting reviews about the MPG of the car. Is there anyone who ACTUALLY OWNS one of these in the UK who can give me an genuine MPG for town driving, motorway and combined from your own experience. Not what you think or what someone said or what you read. FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE. Thanks.

my dad had the AMG 5.5, he got aroung 33mpg on the motor way, at 70ish, 15.5 around town. It was 500cc bigger than the one you're looking at, but very nice to drive!

Not personal, but the book average is 21- 22mpg.
Motorbar's road test vehicle averaged 24mpg, with up to 32mpg on a run.
