But these spy shots suggest that the Benz boys are going in another direction, as they show a stretched version of the new E-Class undergoing development.
Hot on the heels of the reveal of the E-Class (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/10/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-revealed-ahead-of-geneva/) sedan, reports suggest that these spy shots are of an official factory E-Class Pullman limousine (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/23/mercedes-marks-80-years-of-protection-with-new-s600-pullman-guar/) - not an independent aftermarket conversion. If that's the case, the five-meter stretched E is likely to be decked out with all of the latest high-tech gadgetry inside, while the beefy-looking windows and body roll suggest this could be an armored Guard version (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/rappers-delight-mercedes-introduces-armored-e-class/). Whatever it is, you can bet it'll be a whole lot cheaper than a Maybach Zeppelin (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/lead-zeppelin-maybach-exhumes-long-dormant-nameplate-for-new-su/).
