While no one expects Thailand having convertibles on the roads, I see a handful of SLK200s and some SLK55 AMGs. I wonder why people like it so much. Whenever I see an Audi TT, Mazda MX-5(which by the way I drive), etc, they attract me, but the SLK doesn't...

PS: I don't hate the SLK.

The big selling point of the SLK was that it was the only convertible with a hart-top, retractable roof. That was when they were first introduced back for the 1998 model year. Of course things change in a decade and a lot of other manufacturers' also have hard-top convertibles these days.

The SLK is a very nice car to drive. It handles quite well, and if equipped with either the 3.5L V6 ( SLK350 ) or the 5.4L V8 ( SLK55 AMG ), it is a good/great performer. Even the previous generation SLK32 AMG ( with the supercharged 3.2L V6 ) was very fast.
