What's up guys...

i know there are a couple threads on this but haven't found the answer to my problem yet..

i've to a 2007 c230 sport. Just bought it used. Previous owner had the cd changer removed and replaced with an iPod adapter (kit). However i can't get my iPod to work. Plug in the iPod and the mercedes logo shows up on the screen, but i can't control it (on the iPod) and can't get the sound system to switch over.. how do i get the system to go to it? how do i get it to work?
