so we are planning on getting a new family car in the next few months and have looked the Mercedes GL550 & the Lexus LX570 we are a family of 4 in houston with 2 Dogs, which one of these do you think would be a better vehicle and why?! and if there are any other cars in the same price range, & with 3rd row seating could you please tell us!! we personally thought the interior of the Lexus looked better than the GL's, the GL's dashboard & navi looks cheap. but please give me your opinion on the 2 vehicles!

Lexus is going to be much more reliable in the long run. My cousin had LX470 which is the previous version of the full size SUV and that vehicle was a tank, he had close to 150,000 miles with ZERO problems. Mercedes is nice too but the repair and maintenance is going to be more expensive after the warranty expires.

I would say that the Lexus LX570 is more reliable than the Mercedes. The latest seems to develop problems with the electrical system. And you are right about the interior of the Lexus. I like it better.
