I have a very slow leak from my A Class and local garage has been unable to fix (but was able to charge me £350 for not doing so.)
It seems like the fluid collects in the floor pan (The A Class is double bottomed), so when I park it nose up, it leaks; when I park it nose down it doesn't so much.
The fluid has no particular smell - a tiny hint of diesel perhaps, with a bouquet of washing up liquid. It is not black like engine oil, or green like brake fluid, just transparent - tad yellow at best - and just a little greasy. It leaves a greasy stain on the drive, with some black sooty stuff around it.
I am baffled (as was the garage). The problem is, that the floor pan is constantly wet (along the left handside) all the way towards the back. That can't be good. Also, after driving the car smells, of diesel.
Any hints tips suggestions??
